Seasonal affective disorder ( SAD) is a mood disorder subset in which people who have normal mental health throughout most of the year exhibit depressive symptoms at the same time each year, most commonly in winter. Common symptoms include sleeping too much, having little to no energy, and overeating. Seasonal depression is a type of depression that occurs at the same time every year. Seasonal depression disorder, also known as seasonal affective disorder (SAD), can be serious and crippling each year. In that way, it is different than the milder " winter blues ." Most commonly, seasonal depression is in the winter in North America, as that is when there are fewer hours of sunlight. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a form of depression that usually occurs around wintertime. Symptoms of seasonal depression include sleeping more than usual, feeling sad, and fatigue. To cope, you should try light therapy, spend enough time outside, and get frequent exercise. Seasonal depression, also called seasonal affective disorder (SAD), is “ a type of depression that comes and goes with the seasons, typically starting in the late fall and early winter and going away during the spring and summer,” as per the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Seasonal Affective Disorder is a type of a depressive disorder that occurs at a particular time each year, in most common cases it is during winter (1). It is also known as seasonal depression, and it can affect your mood, sleep, eating habits, energy levels, relationships, social life and overall self-worth (2). Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that typically occurs each year during fall and winter. Use of a light therapy box can offer relief. But for some people, light therapy may be more effective when combined with another SAD treatment, such as an antidepressant or psychological counseling (psychotherapy). Seasonal affective disorder, also known by its apt acronym, SAD, is a form of depression that some people get for a few months each year, most commonly during the late fall and winter months, as ... First recognized in a 1984 study by Dr. Norman E. Rosenthal, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affects a shocking one-fifth of the population on the Northeast Coast. Symptoms include increased ... Seasonal depression is similar to persistent depressive disorder in the sense that it can also cause one's energy levels to diminish. "Like most forms of depression, SAD leaves individuals in a 'groggy' hopeless state," explains Julie Morison, PhD, director and owner of outpatient mental health clinic HPA/LiveWell. "The person's energy level is very minimal. Seasonal depression isn’t exclusive to fall and winter but seems to be more common than the spring and summer. The correlation between it all seems to stem from the equator and the amount of daylight you get during the seasons.

2022.01.18 06:32 PDNinja333 Can anyone explain where my diet Dr Pepper disappeared to? (I couldn’t find anywhere else to post this)
So I just finished a can and put it down to browse Reddit and touched it lightly. Then (don’t know why) tried to feel for it. Couldn’t feel it, turned on the lights to look for it and it was just gone. I’m scared and confused and really need some sort of answer.

2022.01.18 06:32 TiredSilly Mourning someone I didn’t know in person?
I’ve gotten interested in Buddhism in just the last couple of months. What got me interested was the book ”I may be wrong” by Björn Natthiko Lindeblad. I’m not going to say that the book changed my life (yet?) but it has changed my attitude to life for the better.
Today I was reached by the sad new that Björn Natthiko passed away this morning. I did not know Björn Natthiko in person but I would like to pay some kind of tribute to him. How can I do this? Is there some kind of prayer I can read for him?

2022.01.18 06:32 GrethaDK Would moving be too stressful for a 10 week old puppy?
My husband and I are getting an English staffy puppy. It was born yesterday so it will be 8 weeks on March 14th. The problem is that we're moving on April 1st. The new place is in the same city, so no long trips involved. Would the move be too much for a little 10 week old puppy to handle?
We have considered asking the breeder if they'll keep it a little longer, if that will be best for the puppy. But we also don't want to miss out on the first couple weeks of bonding and training, if possible. I work as a freelancer from home and am fully prepared to be alternating between packing boxes and caring for the little one. My mom will also be able to help during the day while my husband it at work.
Ultimately, we can't wait to have it with us and smother it with love, but first and foremost we want to ensure its well being.

2022.01.18 06:32 RedditorMaster69 Girlfriend has a lot of guy friends
My girlfriend and I are both 18 at the time and recently started dating. We met through a mutual friend and after the first time we were alone we fell in love. I knew her before ever being romantically interested in her and knew the kind of person she is. She’s extremely friendly to the point where I wouldn’t blame a guy if he thought she was into him. So when ever I saw her be a little too affectionate to another guy I would simply try to brush it off my shoulders even though it bothers me quite a bit. I told her this and she has been working on being less affectionate to other guys. Recently I found out that she has a lot of guy friends who have been romantically interested in her. I’m not embarrassed to say that I’m a jealous person, but I don’t know how to feel about this. Like the only way she met me was because I was one of those guy friends but we fell in love merely by coincidence. To me having that many guy friends that were romantically interested is alarming even from a outside perspective. I want to confront her about this but I know how much she values her “friendships” and I don’t want this to cause problems in our relationship. What do you think is the best thing for me to do?

2022.01.18 06:32 PutridContribution69 my anger keeps me in a place of resentment
Anger has always been my easiest and primary way of dealing with emotions. Rather than dwelling on something, i get mad for a brief time and it goes away for some strange ass reason. I've now come to a point in my life where anger isn't helpful or beneficial. This has caused a major amount of self resentment to my life, I hate myself for my inability to deal with being mad now. I don't want to be mad anymore I just want to feel comfortable while dealing with my emotions and to not feel the need to be mad about a problem if it arises.
